ABOUT CFPAU.ORG
We are a non-profit organization with the purpose of helping consumers that have been harmed by unethical or illegal actions by Utah licensed professionals, and others.
While we are a non-governmental agency, we often meet with state leaders to work to obtain justice for consumers.
Utah has become known for many good reasons as the fraud or scam capital of all our 50 states.
Whether it’s loosey goosy laws that allow state-licensed professionals to get away with fraud or multi-level marketing Ponzi type schemes using affinity fraud, it’s common in Utah.
Have you been burned? It hurts even worse when you realize you thought Utah state law protected you, but that it does not.
Lobbyists in various industries have manipulated legislators through donations and other incentives to be sure NOT to pass the needed legislation to protect you.
Legislators have reduced the consequences or timelines to report it, long before you may discover it, so that those that perpetrate crimes on you, that it seems they can get away with it.
Some state agencies that are created to protect you may be underfunded, or set such high bars to create an action against a crook that they might as well not exist!
It was out of these frustrations that Consumers Financial Protection Advocacy Utah was created. We hope to expose these loopholes and criminal actions in an effort to get media and citizen attention and outrage enough that pressure is put on legislators to pass legislation is passed to end these frauds.
We verify the facts of reports to us as much as possible, and only publish a victim’s report about their experiences that we believe to be true, and then share our opinions about them. Therefore, it’s NOT our intention to defame, or slander any individuals or businesses. It is a legal right to provide our and our victim’s opinions, reviews, and the truth about their experiences.
